Jennifer Garcia is the Program Assistant for The Good Government Initiative at the University of Miami. Jennifer brings a wide range of experience to the program, including event coordination, social media, and work experience with community-based organizations and local and federal government agencies. As the youngest board member for the Urban Environmental League of Greater Miami, Jennifer has helped the UEL create awareness on restoring Virginia Key through community involvement and workshops. During her college career Ms. Garcia interned with Citizens for a Better South Florida and with City of Miami Commissioner Francis Suarez, in which she organized the first Energy Efficiency Workshop for District 4 residents. In the summer of 2011, Jennifer participated in a 16-week internship with the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water in Washington, D.C.
Jennifer graduated in December 2011 from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies, focusing on resource management/policy. Jennifer currently resides in Miami.
